Update!

Alright, i know that i have not blogged in forever! This is super lame so i am going to attempt to update everyone on what has been going on. Soon after coming home from my California vacation I lost my job at APX. This was a tragedy because as i am sure some of you know that it is literally impossible to find a job with the economy the way that it is right now. I was so upset Derek took me to Wal Mart and bought me two goldfish. One girl named Ava and a boy named Colbert. I just love them so much. We got a bowl with pink rocks and a pink tropical flower that goes on the bottom. I just love my fishies. The job hunt began and i was rather successful to begin with. I was hired at two different jobs withing losing my other. One was a company called Doterra which is an essential oils company. He told me he would call me within a week and tell me when i start. The other was at 1 800 contacts. I never heard back from the man at Doterra so i took the job at 1 800 Contacts. I made it through my first week of training which after i had to take a test to see if i kept the job. You had to get an 89 or better to pass, well i didn't pass. So after feeling pretty Darn good about myself, i was shot down pretty quickly. It was quite embarrassing to be honest. Luckily Derek's dad needed a receptionist so that's where i am working now. It's only part time but with my rent being as cheap as it is in the summer it's not too bad.


Two weeks ago i got to go home and do my sisters hair for senior ball! She looked so beautiful and i was really happy with how everything turned out. I think her and Tom had a really good time. I wished that Derek could have come home with me but i guess sometimes its okay to miss each other.

Derek and I celebrated our one year anniversary this last week. I can not believe that we have been together for so long! I feel like time has flown by. To celebrate Derek bought me a hamster! It certainly isn't an engagement ring which i what i was hoping for but she is still darling. Her name is Isabelle. She is a teddy bear hamster. Her cage looks like a McDonald's play place and she is absolutely nuts. She has never bit anybody and she is very active. I just love her. She is getting bigger every day which makes me sad but she is still cute.

I told Derek that all i wanted for my anniversary was for him to plan the evening. He said he could do that. I was really looking forward to what he would come up with, considering the fact that i plan most things. The night before our anniversary i asked Derek if he knew what we were going to do for it. He very confidently said "yes!"a little shocked i replied "really?" "Yup babes, and the best part is, it doesn't cost any money!" he replied with a giant smile.

I was less then thrilled with this news. I was expecting dinner in Salt lake or something romantic. I was getting kind of nervous about what would be going on the next day.

The next day i went to work and Derek text me in the middle of the day telling me that his plans had fallen through and was wondering if i had any ideas.... Now considering the fact that all i wanted was for him to plan something....i was not too happy. As the day progressed i was hoping that he had had a genius idea. Well i sat at home waiting for him to get off work. I thought he told me that he was off at 8 so when 8:45 rolled around and i had heard nothing....i was even more upset. He finally calls, turns out he wasn't off until 8:30. He came over and told me that we were going to PF changs for dinner and that the next night he would take me to salt lake to the Planetarium. It made things a lot better that he actually came up with a plan. I still cried cause i am a baby and i like things to be a certain way but it turned out really nice. I love him.

California Vacation

Derek and I spent the last four days in California with my family. We had the best time! We started off the vacation flying in late Wednesday night. My mom, Dad, sister Shelby and her boyfriend tom came and picked us up from the Oakland airport. Right away we noticed the weather was much warmer then out here in Utah! On Thursday we started out the California Vacation right with a trip to In N' Out burger. Derek had never been and it was a success. He really liked it.

On Thursday night we went to the opening night of my sisters musical. She played Audrey, the star female role in Little Shop of Horrors. I wish i could put pictures of her actually on stage performing but they absolutely would not allow cameras. She was absolutely amazing to say the least. My sister is so talented and on the first night i cried because i was so proud of her

After opening night! Shelby's friends were all so cute and supportive they all made shirts that said I love Audrey and wore them to the show.

On Friday my Grandpa took us on a private tour of the U.S.S. Hornet ship. Tom and Derek were in Heaven. They loved every second of it. It was lots of fun.

On Saturday we took Derek to San Fransisco for the first time! The weather was amazing and we really enjoyed the city.






On Sunday we had a family BBQ at my aunt and uncles house. Unfortunately i didn't get pictures of the but all in all it was really fun. Oh and did i mention, Derek asked my dad for his blessing in marrying me AHHHH! I can't wait for whats to come!

GO JAZZ GO

For those of you who are unaware, Derek and I are huge Jazz fans. Derek more so then myself but since we have been dating for almost a year now he has got me hooked. I know all of the players be heart and what positions they play. I watch most every game with Derek and I really get into it. I have never really been a fan of any sport or team before but this is really fun! Lately the Jazz have been doing really well. In February we were won ten out of eleven games. One was against the Lakers and one was against the Celtics. CRAZY! Last night Derek and I got to go to a game. My friend Jesse has season tickets and he told me that if i ever wanted to go to a game he would sell his seats to me for a reasonable price. Derek and I took him up on that offer and went up to Salt lake last night. It was so much fun. We rode trax in, where Derek made friends with some random man, who knew Derek was so social right? haha. Once we got to the game it was a ton of fun. The Jazz won!!!! It was touch and go for a minute and i thought maybe we were going to have a long ride home but we pulled it out. I would love to have season tickets and go to all the games.,,hmm maybe someday.

Recent Adventures

Last thursday i got to do one of the coolest things! Derek's family invited me to go see the Draper temple open house. I grew up in California where these things don't happen that often so i was super excited! I had never seen that much of the inside of the temple before i could hardly wait! It was absolutely breath taking. I have never seen anything so beautiful in my life. I cried during a lot of it. The celestial room had the most gorgeous chandelier in it that i have ever seen. I would highly recomenned everyone to go see it! It was a truly spiritual experience. I can't wait to be married in the temple one day!



My cousin Amanda came down here from Oregon this weekend to visit me! It has been so much fun having her here and i love seeing her and spending time with her.

Valentines Day

To celebrate valentines day together Derek and i went to Larsen home for dinner. His mom is so cute. She decorated the table with all red and pink valentines things. She had so many flowers and cute things i just loved it. She made steak and smashed potatoes and of course red jello. It was really fun to be over there with the family. After dinner Derek took me engagement ring shopping. It was so fun. I was super overwhelmed though. So many sparkly things. How do you even narrow it down? I think that i finally found the one. We wont be getting engaged for a while but we wanted to pick it out so that he can start saving for it. I'm kind of expensive i guess. haha. After looking at sparkelys for hours we went and had dessert back at the Larsen's. Lisa had a chocolate fountain and all sorts of yummy stuff. After stuffing ourselves we drove home and we watched the all star slam dunk contest. It was actually really entertaining. I did fall asleep though. All in all it was a great valentines day. I love you Derek.

Keys On Main

My Friend Allie and I have been wanting to do a double date for a while now. Allie and i work together and we always talk about our boys and we thought it would be a blast to all go out together. On Thursday we decided it would be fun to go to the piano bar in Salt Lake. It only costs five dollars to get in and it is supposed to be super entertaining. It was well worth the money. The one down fall is that the place is a bar so there were certainly a lot of drunk people. That doesn't bother me at all. In fact i find it rather entertaining to watch drunk people, but i understand for some people it can be uncomfortable. The musicians we amazing. They really could play any song. People were paying up to forty dollars to here the dueling piano players play their song. The crowd was a little older. In fact at one point Derek turned to me and said "do you feel like we are a little young to be in here?" Most of the people in there were my moms age. We did have a great time though and I would love to go again.
